For the last couple years, I have been preparing to be Confirmed. When a person gets Confirmed, the Holy Spirit comes to them in a special way and enables them to profess their faith and become soldiers of Christ. When we get Confirmed we choose a patron saint and a sponsor, get anointed by the Bishop, receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, and get a slight slap on the cheek.
My patron saint is St. Christopher. The reason why I picked him is because he carried Jesus Christ (and lots of other people) across the deep sea of Canaan, Israel. I want to be able to help people in anyway and convert them, too. My sponsor is Emily B. She is a good practicing Catholic, who is always encouraging people to do the right thin. I’ve known her for ten years and I trust her with my whole heart
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, understanding, and fear of the Lord. The seven gifts help us by making us more strong and alert and to make us do God’s will. To love our enemies for God’s sake and to be willing to die for them, we need the help of the Holy Spirit. I made my Confirmation on March 11, 2017.1
