Why Christians Should be Able to Display Religious Symbols in Public Places

February 1, 2017

Americans have many freedoms. One of these freedoms is the freedom of religion. Christians should have the right to display religious symbols in public places. There are many reasons to defend this. Americans have the freedom of religion, Americans can conduct public advertising, and Americans can display historic symbols in public places. Because Americans have freedom of religion, publicly advertise, and display historic symbols in public places, Christians should have the right to display religious symbols in public places.

It says in the First Amendment that Americans have the free exercise of their religion. Christians want to evangelize, and one way to evangelize is to display religious symbols in public places. Christian symbols are rosaries, scapulars, and especially the cross, the symbol of Christ’s redemption for all mankind. Since these symbols are part of Christianity, and Christians are free to practice their religion, then Christians should be free to display religious symbols in public places.

Christians should be allowed to advertise their religion since people are allowed to advertise their businesses, public events, and products. Therefore, Christians should be able to advertise their products. Whether their products are rosaries, crosses, crucifixes, or scapulars, Christians should be able to publicly advertise religious products that symbolize Christianity wherever they want.

Historic symbols are allowed to be displayed in public. Similarly, many Christian symbols are historical symbols because they were instituted in the past, and everything in the past is history, especially the symbol of the cross. The cross symbolizes Jesus dying on the cross to save all mankind. He did this in the past, and that is now history. Therefore, since the cross is a religious symbol, and religious symbols are allowed to be displayed in public, the cross, and other Christian historic symbols should be allowed to be displayed in public.

In America, Christians have freedom of religion. Christians also have the freedom to advertise and the freedom to display historic symbols in public places. For these three reasons, Christians should have the right to display religious symbols in public places.
